"Self-Pay Markets in Health Care: Consumer Nirvana or Caveat Emptor?," Health Affairs: In a Health Affairs Web exclusive, Ha Tu, a senior health researcher at the Center for Studying Health System Change, and Jessica May, a health research analyst at the center and a graduate student at Princeton University, examine several self-pay markets for health care to gauge the extent of consumer shopping for medical procedures as health plan cost-sharing requirements and consumer-driven health plans become more prevalent.
